Tudor Treasures

The Tudor House is a combination tearoom and English import shop with a bakery counter so tempting it’s almost impossible to leave empty-handed. The savory pastries include Cornish pasties, puff pastry turnovers filled with ground sirloin, carrots, onions and peas. The pasties are fresh daily, and the puff pastry is made on the premises.

For dessert, there’s a large selection of baked goods including fruit tarts, Eccles cakes and scones. Along with plain shortbread, there are chocolate chip shortbread cookies and Savoy biscuits, which the Tudor House interprets as shortbread cookies sandwiched with butter cream filling, topped with raspberry jam and powdered sugar.
