Prop. 22

Share

Your Feb. 25 editorial against Prop. 22 is completely misplaced. Your statement that what we need most is a society based on inclusion is typical of some of today’s wishy-washy statements. What we need is a society based on standards, as ours used to be. A vote against Prop. 22 is a vote to debase marriage, the most revered state in any society and protected by all. Marriage is between a man and a woman for the procreation of children to continue the race.

If people are homosexual, that is their business; but do not try and elevate a homosexual relationship to the same standing as a marriage.

Without Prop. 22, the door is open to recognizing gay marriages performed elsewhere. This is why 30 other states already have seen fit to enact equivalent legislation. Prop. 22 is necessary.

You want to strengthen marriage? Love and respect your own spouse. You want to support families? Mentor an underprivileged child; help someone caring for an ill or elderly relative. But stay out of my life. If gays make you feel insecure in your marriage, you need a counselor, not a legislator.

Truly help protect California’s families--vote no on Prop. 22.
