Tenneco Automotive Inc., the world’s largest maker of shock absorbers and exhaust systems, named Chief Executive Mark Frissora chairman, replacing Dana Mead, who is retiring. Frissora, 44, has been chief executive and president since April. Tenneco Automotive, which makes Monroe shock absorbers and Walker mufflers, became independent in November when Tenneco Inc. split into the automotive company and packaging company Pactiv Corp.
