Taking to Task Apathetic Attitudes

When are We the People going to waken from our slumber and apathetic attitudes and demand a place at the table where decisions affecting our quality of life and well-being are made every day?

You can bet your sweet bippy the special interest lobbyists are there in full force to wheedle public (taxpayer) funds for their private ambitions. Our Supreme Court has declared special interest donations a form of free speech, but in other countries in the world it would be known as bribes for special favors.

If politicians worked half as hard to keep in touch with We the People throughout their tenure as they do while running for office, decisions for the good of all could be the result. Isn’t it time We the People became Americans with democratic values--whether Democrat, Republican, Catholic, Protestant, Jew, Hindu, Muslim, and of any skin color--and become united for the good of all?

Diversity is our destiny here in California and the sooner we adjust to that idea, the sooner we will all be more fruitful socially and economically. By the same token, democratic freedoms cannot survive if We the People don’t come out and vote. Democracy has to be worked at and you are the key! Use it!
