Epicor Will Settle Alyn Suit for $1.8 Million

Epicor Software Corp., an Irvine management software supplier, said Friday it has agreed to pay $1.8 million to settle a lawsuit that Alyn Corp. in Irvine had pending against a company that Epicor brought early last year. Epicor said in a news release that it agreed to settle the suit against Dataworks Corp., which had been sued over a software licensing agreement. The settlement will be reflected in last year’s financial results, which will be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by the end of the month. The company previously had reported a net loss of $48.8 million or $1.20 a share. Including the accrual for the Alyn settlement, last year’s loss would grow to $50.6 million or $1.25 per share. Neither Epicor nor Alyn, a consumer and industrial products maker, would release further details of the settlement.
