Justin Meyer, Silver Oak Wine Cellars

“I’ve been enjoying a Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay. I’d been drinking the ’97 but was given some of the ‘98, which is just being released. It’s got nice fruit and it’s not too oaky. They’ve taken to aging the wine a little in American oak. Chardonnays that are so buttery and oaky that you can’t taste the wine really turn me off. But this is a nice compromise between American and French oak.”
