The recently formed Vietnamese American Oral History Society is recruiting students and others interested in interviewing seniors for an uncommon perspective on Vietnamese history.

Co-founder Vu Pham said his group plans to enable young people to document stories from seniors whose “voices would normally never be recorded.” The information gathered will be submitted to the Southeast Asian Archive at UC Irvine and possibly used for book publication. The group is drafting a mission statement and meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the Nguyen Ba Hoc Cultural Center. Information: (714) 593-2443.
