Gurza on Racism

Share

* I am writing to commend Agustin Gurza on his May 16 column. In our politically correct world, racism can be defined only as whites against “people of color.” This is a concept the media reinforce through their selective coverage. A case in point is the failure to cover the beating death of Virgil Henry III, a black man who died at the hands of a Latino mob.

I’m sure Gurza will receive a lot of flak for showing us that racists come in all colors. But I do thank him for having the courage to portray this for exactly what it was: an ugly, savage act committed by ugly, savage racists. And it’s the way all ugly, savage acts of racism should be portrayed, regardless of the perpetrators’ skin color.
