In a First, a Man to Head Army Nurses
From Times Wire Reports
The top nurse at the Ft. Jackson hospital in Columbia, S.C., was promoted to head the Army Nurse Corps, making him the first man to hold the post. Brig. Gen. William T. Bester, a 26-year Army veteran, will transfer next week to the Pentagon to take control of the Army’s 3,400 active-duty nurses. Ft. Jackson is the nation’s largest military basic training center.
