* Can I believe my eyes?

There’s been a walk in Huntington Beach--wait till you hear this--in solidarity of propagating simple acts of kindness in the community (“Kindness Is a Cause Too,” May 22).

It makes my day that this “conspiracy of goodness” was sufficiently newsworthy to have generated a half-page of reporting by The Times.

Having just been barked at at the mall by an impatient salesperson after also having to wait patiently for a coveted mall parking spot only to have a pair of rude youths cut in front of me and grab the spot, I’ve been fuming over the coarseness of the human condition.

Kudos to Rabbi Moishe Y. Engel, the Hebrew Academy and community marchers and the photo of the beaming faces of the very young sprinters approaching the finish line that says it all.

There’s still some hope.
