‘Dharma’ Follows the Material Girl
Jenna Elfman, who co-stars in the hit ABC sitcom “Dharma and Greg,” and her husband, actor Bodhi Elfman, have purchased Madonna’s Hollywood Hills home for about $4 million.
Madonna put the home, which she had owned since 1996, on the market in June, when she bought a Beverly Hills home for $6.5 million. The same month, she bought a London home for about $16 million, according to Reuters.
Madonna, 42, gave birth to a son by her fiance, British director Guy Ritchie, in August. The singer-actress, who co-starred with Rupert Everett in the movie “The Next Best Thing,” released her newest album, “Music,” in September.
Jenna Elfman, 29, appeared in “Keeping the Faith” with Ben Stiller and Edward Norton. She has a featured role alongside Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn in the movie “Town & Country,” due out in March.
Elfman made her feature film debut in “Grosse Point Blank” (1997), the same year she was cast opposite Thomas Gibson in “Dharma and Greg.” She also co-starred with Matthew McConaughey in Ron Howard’s movie “EDtv” (1998).
Bodhi Elfman, who was in the 1998 movies “Godzilla” and “Armageddon,” had small roles in “Keeping the Faith” and the Nicolas Cage movie “Gone in 60 Seconds,” and he co-stars in UPN’s new futuristic drama “Freedom.”
The Elfmans’ new Hollywood Hills home has three bedrooms in about 5,000 square feet plus a two-bedroom cottage. Designed by architect Wallace Neff and built in the 1920s, the Mediterranean-style home is on two acres.
Barry Peele of Sotheby’s International Realty, Beverly Hills, represented Madonna in the sale, and Victoria Lockwood of Fred Sands Estates, Beverly Hills, represented Elfman in buying, sources said.

L.A. talk-radio personality Ken Minyard, a regular for 25 years on KABC and part of a team with his son, Rick, for the past couple of years on KRLA-AM, and his wife, Jaqi, have listed their Sunset Strip-area home at just under $1.2 million.
The couple, who have lived in the house since 1996, plan to live in the Channel Islands Harbor area of Oxnard.
Ken Minyard, 60, partnered with Bob Arthur on KABC for 17 years until Arthur retired in 1990. Then Minyard and Roger Barkley co-hosted a show on the same station for about six years. Before moving to KRLA, Minyard teamed with Peter Tilden on a show for about two years.
Built in 1995, the Minyards’ home, behind gates, has five bedrooms in just under 4,000 square feet. The contemporary-style villa also has park and city views, a screening room, a view deck and a circular staircase that drops down to an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna.

Actress Kelly Rutherford, who played the first victim in the movie “Scream 3” and plays Helen Kimble in the new TV series “The Fugitive,” has become a first-time home buyer with her purchase of a Hollywood Hills home with two bedrooms and a maid’s quarters for about $1 million.
Rutherford, 32, is probably best known for starring as the ex-prostitute Megan in the long-running Fox soap “Melrose Place.” She has had a recurring role in the Fox drama “Get Real,” and she made a cameo appearance as Lady Maria Cosway in the CBS miniseries “Sally Hemings: An American Scandal.”
She and Chad Lowe will co-star in the TBS original movie “Robin Cook’s Acceptable Risk,” expected to premiere in March.
The traditional-style house she purchased was built in the ‘40s.

Rory Knox Johnston, who plays Jeeves the butler in TV ads for Ask Jeeves, an Internet search service, has purchased a Hollywood Hills home for $425,000.
Ask Jeeves allows users to type in questions to have Jeeves answer or to find information, products or services online.
The Irish-born Johnston played a butler in the ABC series “Teen Angel” (1997-98). He has appeared on stage in the Southland in “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” “As You Like It,” “Camelot” and “A Child’s Christmas in Wales.” Among his TV credits are “Lincoln: The Untold Stories” (History Channel) and “The Irish in America” (A&E;).
The three-bedroom house that he bought is a 1960s contemporary with canyon views.
