Sillerman Buys Talent Management Company

Share

Robert Sillerman--whose previous buying sprees transformed the radio and concert industries--now has his sights on consolidating the talent management business.

The New York entrepreneur said Monday he had purchased the Firm, a top Los Angeles management company founded by Michael Green and Jeff Kwatinetz that represents music stars such as Korn, Limp Bizkit and the Backstreet Boys.

During the last few months, Sillerman has approached a number of rock music talent firms, including Q-Prime, HK Management and Spivak Entertainment. Sources say Sillerman plans to consolidate the artist management industry the same way he did with radio and live-event businesses.

Sillerman, a former radio executive with no experience in the live entertainment business, became the world’s biggest concert promoter in just three years after spending $2 billion for more than 120 venues and dozens of promotion firms in many of the major U.S. markets.

In August, Sillerman sold his company, SFX, to radio behemoth Clear Channel Communications for slightly more than $4 million. Sillerman’s latest venture is called FXM.
