* George Marotta, research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and an analyst of world financial markets, will speak at a meeting of the Santa Barbara / Ventura chapter of the American Assn. of Individual Investors at 6:45 p.m. at the Pierpont Inn, 550 San Jon Road, Ventura.

His topic will be “Stock Investing with a World Perspective.” The nonprofit educational association’s meeting is open to the public and costs $8 for members and guests; $9 for others.
