North and South Push Reconciliation

North and South Korea agreed to step up efforts to promote cross-border exchanges and widen economic cooperation in a bid to speed the reconciliation of the longtime foes. In a joint statement ending a four-day visit by an emissary for North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, the two sides said they would make every effort to implement agreements broached after the historic June summit between the leaders of the two Koreas.
