Kadafi, on 4-Nation Tour, Visits Jordan
In a sign of improving ties, Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi arrived in Jordan on his first visit to the Arab kingdom in nearly two decades. Kadafi, on a four-nation tour that will later take him to Syria and Yemen, arrived by ferry from Egypt at Jordan’s Red Sea port city of Aqaba. He was greeted by King Abdullah II. According to Jordanian officials speaking on condition of anonymity, the two leaders met at a palace compound on the seashore at Aqaba. They were expected to discuss bolstering inter-Arab relations and bilateral ties as well as the bloody Israeli-Palestinian clashes sweeping across Palestinian territories and Israel for nearly a week.
