NetZero Inc. Launches Web Site Designed to Aid Market Research

Share

NetZero Inc. in Westlake Village, a provider of free Internet access, has launched a market-research Web site--CyberTarget.com--which supplies data that NetZero has accumulated on its 5 million registered users.

Using the nonpersonal profile data of NetZero members, plus by tracking the members’ Internet usage, CyberTarget is designed to give marketers a better understanding of how people use the Internet.

CyberTarget profiles respondents through a direct measure of their online behavior--the sites they visit, the amount of time they spend there and the specific online paths they take. As a result, Net Zero officials said, researchers can target those known to use certain services and visit particular Web sites.

Mark R. Goldston, NetZero’s chairman and chief executive, called CyberTarget an effective strategic tool that allows clients to target their competitors’ customers.

CyberTarget offers advertisers four types of reports, samples of which can be viewed on the Web site.
