RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA

The Concord Group, a real estate consulting firm hired by the city to conduct an independent marketing study, will present an updated report on the most appropriate retail uses for the Shops at El Paseo at the Planning Commission meeting tonight.

The City Council and the developer of the retail center, Santa Margarita Joint Venture, hired the firm to help determine if a destination entertainment complex could be successful there.

The original study concluded that the most viable uses would be restaurants and a large electronics store. The study also said that entertainment businesses had the lowest potential for attracting tenants.
