* Family--Performances to Grow On series will present the Khac Chi Ensemble Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the performing space of the Church of Religious Science, 101 S. Laurel St., Ventura. The troupe uses rare and unique musical instruments and plays the music of the mountain people of Vietnam. The evening will include a special shadow puppet theater show from Thailand, presented by Magical Moonshine Theatre. General: advance $12, at the door $15. * Norteno--Los Amigos del Valle & Friends will perform Oct. 22 at Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard.
