Seattle-based RealNetworks Inc., maker of the most popular software for playing Internet audio and video files, said it will form a charitable foundation to spend 5% of its profit on issues such as free speech. So far, that equals about $2 million from the five quarters since the company has been profitable, excluding certain costs. The RealNetworks foundation will donate software and services to enable free speech and serve communities that lack access to Internet multimedia technology, Chairman Rob Glaser said.
