Mideast Oil Dependence
* Whether Americans like it or not, Middle East oil is a commodity that belongs to the people of that region. As things stand, we are dependent on their oil. If we don’t like it, let’s buy those cars already on the market that get 50 miles to the gallon. If war over oil breaks out, let’s send the folks driving the SUVs to do the fighting.
Since George W. Bush has ridiculed Al Gore’s suggestion that we use tax breaks to encourage the use of more fuel-efficient automobiles, let’s send him too.
