SBA National Broadcast

The Small Business Administration will air a satellite conference tonight aimed at helping women entrepreneurs prepare their businesses for death or disaster. Entitled the “Power of Protecting Your Assets: Protecting the Future of Your Business,” the program will mark the fourth in a series of national broadcasts targeted at women business owners.

The conference program will feature a question-and-answer session with a panel of experts who will address topics such as insurance and succession planning. The program will be broadcast live from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST, but you won’t be able to get it on your office television. Instead you’ll have to travel to any Edward Jones investment office (they’re one of the sponsors) or to some other SBA affiliate receiving the downlink. To find the location nearest you, call (877) 335-4015 or visit the Edward Jones Web site at https://www.edwardjones.com. The program is free, but you’ll need to call to reserve a seat.

Another SBA freebie is a new CD-ROM to help small businesses develop an Internet strategy. Titled “Build Your Business on the Web,” it’s available from SBA Business Information Centers, One-Stop Capital Shops and other affiliates. For a complete list of locations, go to the SBA’s Web site at https://www.sba.gov/services.
