PEWAUKEE, Wis. —
After four years and expenditure of $4.5 million, a Hindu temple has opened in Wisconsin.
The temple has been in the works since 1996. Until now the 1,000 families of Indian ancestry in the state have had to visit temples in the Chicago area.
Suhas Pawar, who designed the structure, said it won’t be complete until a dome is added. At present “it is like a church without a steeple,” he said.
