Character Control, Not Gun Control

Share

* Re “Gun Control--Because Accidents Happen” (Aug. 31):

Jerry Hicks just doesn’t get it when it comes to guns and violence in our society. More gun laws will not help stem the tide of violence and crime in our streets.

If Hicks wants to make this a better community, he should write many columns about the need for more teaching of character in our society. He should write columns about the need for religious codes in our lives.

Focusing on inanimate objects may feel good, but it will do little good. Guns are not the issue. How people act is the issue.
