A Pool and a City View to Go With That Little Statuette

Emmy-winning Megan Mullally, who plays Grace’s ditsy socialite assistant Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom “Will & Grace,” has become a first-time home buyer with her purchase of a two-bedroom home in the Sunset Strip area.

Sources indicated that the home sold for its full $969,000 asking price.

Mullally, 41, was a first-time nominee when she won her Emmy earlier this month as a supporting actress on “Will & Grace,” named the best comedy in the 52nd annual nighttime awards. The sitcom airs on Thursday nights.

Before joining “Will & Grace” in 1998, Mullally co-starred with Matthew Broderick in the Broadway revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” and provided the voice of Pebbles Flintstone in the ABC specials “I Yabba-Dabba Doo!” and “Hollyrock-a-Bye Baby.”

Mullally made her film debut as a call girl in 1983’s “Risky Business” two years before she moved to L.A. from Chicago. She was born in L.A. and raised in Oklahoma.

She bought a Mediterranean-style home built in the ‘30s with a pool and city views. The seller is a furniture designer and manufacturer.

Stephen G. Baker at Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills North, had the listing, sources said.

Hollywood billboard queen Angelyne has purchased an ocean-view home behind gates in Malibu for about $600,000.

Angelyne has appeared on hundreds of L.A. billboards for more than a dozen years, rarely advertising anything except her image of what she describes as the “ultimate blond bombshell, which represents the glamorous Hollywood the world dreams of.”

The billboards, which have become so signature Hollywood that they have been shown in such movies as “Get Shorty” and “L.A. Story,” have even extended to New York, Washington, D.C., England, Germany and Japan.

Her newest billboard is a self-portrait. The original painting sells for $100,000.

Angelyne plans to use her new Malibu home, with three bedrooms, as a studio. Besides her artwork, she has a feature film in the works, chronicling the adventures of a Hollywood love goddess, and she plans to sing as part of her film’s music.

Lydia Porter Simon of Coldwell Banker Previews, Malibu East, represented Angelyne in her purchase; John Mills, of the same office, had the listing.

TV-radio sports personality Wayne Allyn Root and his wife, Debra, have listed their Malibu home at $1.75 million.

Root, 39, is founder and CEO of eSportsEntertainment. He also stars in and produces the football pregame show the eSportsEdge on Pax TV and the syndicated radio show eSportsEdge.

The Roots plan to move closer to his new offices in Century City.

Their Malibu home has three bedrooms in about 3,200 square feet. The house also has a two-story wall of glass overlooking the ocean; a detached, 1,500-square-foot office with a guest suite; a pool with a waterfall, and three fireplaces.
