Share

Litton Industries Inc. said that about 500 employees in its data systems unit in Agoura Hills will be transferred to Northridge as several divisions within the advanced electronics systems group are realigned and consolidated in a move to improve customer service. The advanced electronics business, located in Northridge, and the data systems business in Agoura Hills are being combined into a new division, Litton Integrated Systems, the company said. William J. Allison, currently president of the data systems business, was appointed president of the new division. The units make military navigational equipment and computer hardware for missile and air defense systems. Randy Belote, a spokesman for the Woodland Hills-based defense contractor, said that no layoffs are planned but that some jobs may be cut due to the reorganization. Litton closed off 81 cents at $42.59 on the NYSE.
