$4.5-Billion Damages Assessed Against Serb

Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic was ordered in U.S. District Court to pay $4.5 billion in damages for atrocities committed by his soldiers. Karadzic remains an international fugitive. Jury foreman Bill Walters said that jurors understood a verdict would probably never be paid but believed it was important to send a message.
