* As a retired teacher, I wish to grade your April 6 editorial, “Boosting Blue-Collar Skills,” with a full-fledged A+. Please keep reminding our leaders to fund programs suited to the 80% of high-school graduates hunting for technical jobs. Keep also encouraging engineers, biologists and other professionals to get involved in raising the skills of our labor force. That’s the only way for our economy to prosper in the global competition.
