Guard Held Briefly in Jail Disturbance

About 300 inmates at the Dartmouth House of Corrections in southeastern Massachusetts took part in a disturbance that included holding a guard hostage for about 40 minutes, officials said.
The unrest started in one of the jail’s housing units and spilled out into a courtyard, an official said. It ended an hour later.
