Breast Cancer Stamp Brings In $20 Million
From Times Wire Reports
The special fund-raising postage stamp for breast cancer has raised $20 million with more than a year left to circulate.
Postal authorities said they have recently received inquiries about a false report that sales of the stamp were ending. The stamp will remain on sale until the summer of 2002.
The stamp, called a semipostal, sells for 40 cents and the money received in excess of the 34-cent rate is donated to research.
