Irvine’s Interest Narrowly Focused

Share

Re “Turn Housing Into Homes,” Orange County Perspective, April 15:

The Times refers to “all sorts of legal gamesmanship” surrounding Irvine’s interest in annexing the Marine Corps air station acreage. The term “gamesmanship” can be defined as “cunning,” which truly paints a picture of Irvine’s style as it goes about opposing jail expansion, affordable housing, an international airport and slow growth.

The position of the City Council, as voiced by Larry Agran and Chris Mears, does nothing for the general welfare of the residents of Orange County. For sure, a city is responsible for considering the needs of its surrounding municipalities as it pursues its own agenda.
