From Times Wire Reports

A long-serving butler to Princess Diana was charged with pilfering items from her estate after her death--including a gem-studded model of an Arab sailing ship that was a wedding gift.

London’s Metropolitan Police charged Harold Brown, 48, with four counts of theft. The allegedly stolen goods include jewelry and $1,700, as well as the ship model, which British media reports have valued at as much as $1.4 million.

Brown currently works for Queen Elizabeth II’s sister, Princess Margaret, at Kensington Palace, where Diana, who died in a car accident in 1997, also had an apartment.
