State TV Shows 3 Britons Confessing to Bombings
Three men identified as Britons were shown on Saudi state television confessing to three bomb attacks in the kingdom.
The broadcast showed the middle-aged men calmly describing in minute detail how they carried out the attacks in the capital, Riyadh, and the eastern town of Al Khubar. The attacks, staged between December and March, injured three people.
The men were named in Arabic as Les Walker, Jamie Patrick Leigh and James Cuttle. An Arabic translation of their remarks was broadcast over their voices. They did not mention a motive.
If convicted, the three could be sentenced to death.
