Criminal Excuse
Re “Release Near for Rapist at Eye of Storm,” Aug. 17: Psychiatry is an extremely inexact area of medical science. Its practitioners offer their “best guesses” about future behavior based on observations of thousands of other normal or near-normal people.
A sexual predator like Patrick Henry Ghilotti is not a normal person. His behavior is only predictable based on past experience--eight brutally raped women. He’s a monster who should be locked in a cage forever.
What other nation or state would release such a dangerous threat to its citizens? Three strikes and you’re out, but eight strikes and you’re back on the street again? Only in California.
