MIAMI — Four days after weakening into a tropical depression, Tropical Storm Dean came back to life Monday in the North Atlantic, but forecasters don’t expect it to make landfall.
Dean’s center is expected to pass south of Newfoundland today, but a storm watch has been issued for its southern Grand Banks, said Robert Molleda of the U.S. National Hurricane Center here.
Dean’s winds were about 70 mph late Monday, just below hurricane strength of 74 mph.
Dean drenched Puerto Rico last week.
