Firing of 6 Deputies Over Inmate Abuse Is Sought

The Sheriff’s Department is moving to fire six deputies and suspend nine others at the County Jail after an investigation into charges of inmate abuse.
The termination decision involves four deputies and two sergeants who allegedly took part in “counseling sessions” with inmates that involved unnecessary use of force, officials said.
