Objections to Prayer

Readers’ objections to school prayer (letters, Dec. 5) were so strong as to be astonishing. What harm can it do to ask God for guidance? Does the atheist want to knock off “God Bless America”? “In God We Trust”? Opening sessions of Congress with prayer? What religion rejects God? Atheism does. Some atheists attribute the universe to a big bang. OK, but there had to be something to explode. Where did that come from?
