Salvation Army Policy

Re “Salvation Army Is Picketed,” Dec. 6: More than one Army declines to grant health-care benefits to domestic partners. There are also the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard. Instead of picking on the gentle Salvation Army, I would like to see these protesters show some spine and target armed services recruiting stations and U.S. military installations with demonstrations. I would like to see them urge people to withhold support and services to these organizations.
Somehow, I can’t picture military police welcoming protesters with doughnuts. Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that the protesters really don’t have time to take on the U.S. military. They’re too busy beating up on the Salvation Army and the Boy Scouts.
