Firefighters’ Trespass Charges Are Dismissed
A Manhattan judge dismissed trespass charges against 18 firefighters after last month’s scuffle with police at the site where terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center.
The charges stemmed from the firefighters’ Nov. 2 protest march and confrontation with police after city officials limited how many firefighters could search the rubble.
At the request of the district attorney’s office, Criminal Court Judge Gregory Carro dismissed all the trespass charges and an assault charge filed against one firefighter who allegedly hit a policeman.
