Union Raises $185,000 for New York Families

The union representing about 1,800 public safety workers raised almost $185,000 for surviving spouses and children of New York safety personnel who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, officials said Wednesday.
Jim Erwin, president of San Bernardino County Safety Employees’ Assn., flew to New York on Wednesday to deliver checks to three associations that represent New York firefighters, police officers and Port Authority officers.
