Re “Spurned for Our Death Penalty,” Commentary, Dec. 21: The European Union has declared abolition of capital punishment to be its top, worldwide human rights priority. Slavery in Sudan? Oppression of women in Islamic countries? No, it’s much more fun to throw rocks at the United States.
