Re “Widow Moved by Outpouring of Generosity,” Dec. 23: It is reassuring to find that Sheila Ornedo has felt comfort in her adopted country after losing her husband in the Sept. 11 attack on the Pentagon. The outpouring of support from her church, prisoners at Pelican Bay State Prison and her husband’s co-workers makes her the focal point of the strength of the community. Let us hope that she can retain this strength in raising Ruben Ornedo’s child as a proud American.
