A House With High-Tech Trimmings

TIMES STAFF WRITER

A “house of the future,” this Hollywood Hills residence has a state-of-the-art system to control lights and sound and a sound studio-theater.

The house, which won’t be completed for at least six more weeks, was the vision of owner-developer John Whitney Jr., who with his father helped to introduce the use of computers in filmmaking.

“He had the idea for some years,” said listing agent Joan McGoohan. Architect Tom Nohr refined the idea.
