Corrupt Argentina

Re your Dec. 21 commentary “Argentina: Penniless, Friendless, Soulless”: To really start a new chapter in the sociopolitical life of Argentina, the Argentine people need to be protected from their corrupt rulers. How could other countries and the International Monetary Fund continue lending exorbitant amounts of money when the recent past shows that those funds end up in the pockets of government figures?

How come nobody is asking for any proof of what is being done with the money that comes from the U.S. taxpayers? The country of Argentina is run by an unscrupulous mafia, and there is corruption at all levels. The best help the Argentine people could get is to not lend their country any more money unless there is some accountability.
