People Who Care

Share

* Nothing starts my day off better than reading something positive in the morning paper (“Quixotic River Activist Savors Major Victory,” Jan. 29). Because I am concerned about the environment in general, I was so heartened by the article about Lewis MacAdams’ commitment to cleaning up the Los Angeles River.

Don’t despair, Mr. MacAdams. In my first year of teaching, 30 years ago, I sponsored an environmental club called the “I Care Club.” Out of a school population of 900, there were two members in my club. They were my daughter, Teresa, and one boy. (Carl Ketner, where are you?) There are three more of us who care.
