Support for Moorlach, Edison

Re “Moorlach Feels Pain of School Losses,” Jan. 18:

The story dealt with the Orange County treasurer department’s involvements in Edison International commercial paper and short-term notes. I provided my views on that topic and others, and was briefly quoted in the article. However, readers might likely infer from the juxtaposition of my “generic” comment that I lacked faith in Treasurer John M.W. Moorlach’s objectivity. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Additionally, the article suggested that Southern California Edison’s Jo Ellen Allen potentially influenced Moorlach’s investment decisions. I do not believe this to be so and, personally, hold the highest regard for Allen’s character and professionalism.
