Rival Newspaper Hits Stands in Portland
From Times Wire Reports
A new newspaper, the Portland Tribune, is taking on the Oregonian, a respected daily that has been in existence for all of Portland’s 150 years.
Robert Pamplin Jr., Oregon’s second-richest man, is backing the first real head-to-head newspaper competition in Oregon in nearly 20 years. The Portland Tribune will be delivered free, twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays, to about 120,000 households.
