$8-Million Renovation Set at Pasadena Complex

The historical Royal Laundry complex in Pasadena will undergo an $8-million renovation that will transform the Art Deco-style buildings into 80,000 square feet of office space.

A partnership that includes the Lee Group of Los Angeles bought the three empty buildings in the city’s Technology Corridor last September for an undisclosed amount. The renovation of the 1930s-era buildings on Raymond Avenue near Old Pasadena is scheduled to be complete by May. No leases have been signed at the complex, which is represented by broker Insignia ESG.

The Royal Laundry, designed by Southern California architect Gordon Kaufman, has been empty since the 1980s, said Jay Stark, director of development for the Lee Group.
