Presidential Pardons

Share

Regarding all the hoopla about President Clinton’s pardon of Marc Rich: Yes, it needs to be investigated, but I would like to know where all these sanctimonious voices from the press (both right and left wing) and the usual gang of Clinton haters in Congress were when former President Bush pardoned Caspar Weinberger for his role in Iran-Contra? This man circumvented the Congress, thus violating the constitutional system of checks and balances. Weinberger (and Ronald Reagan and George Bush and the rest of them) essentially committed what should have been regarded as treason.

Where was all the outrage about that? What short and convenient memories they all have.
