U.N. Team Wraps Up Inquiry Into Uprising
A U.N. human rights team said it had ended its investigation of the Palestinian uprising against Israel.
The team is to present its report to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in March. Israel refused to cooperate to protest the language of a U.N. resolution that condemned it for “war crimes and crimes against humanity” related to its handling of the uprising.
The U.N. team went to the West Bank and Gaza Strip and met officials from the Palestinian Authority as well as from Palestinian and Israeli nongovernmental organizations.
