Defense Spending
I hope that President Bush’s defense review will follow the suggestions in Matthew Miller’s column (“Give Us a Better Bang for the Military Buck,” Commentary, Feb. 14) but I’m not counting on it. The idea of spending “defense” money only on actual defense of our country is probably far too Libertarian for any politicians to support it. More likely the review will find even more ways to spend that money on things that have nothing to do with defense.
